A power rake is used to aggressively remove thick layers of thatch (dead grass and organic debris) that exceed 1/2 inch in thickness. Unlike standard dethatchers, power rakes use mechanical flails or rotating blades to dig deeper into the soil surface, promoting better water and nutrient absorption for healthier turf.
